Helene Mae Tate


LARUE — Helene Mae Tate, age 97, of 150 Front St, LaRue, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Marion.
She was born Aug. 20,1902, in LaRue, Ohio, to the late Edmond Franklin and Princess (Myers) Lee.
On Feb. 18, 1928, she married Joseph P. Tate and he died Oct. 3, 1962.
She is survived by three sons, John F. (Iris) Tate of Little Rock, Ark, Donald L. Pete (Mary Ann) Tate of Galion, Ohio, and James A. Andy (Farimae) Tate of Virginia Beach, Va.; one stepson, Charles E. (Marie) Tate of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn (Michael H.) Kennard of Morral, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a nephew, Ralph Lee, of LaRue. Two daughters Josephine Tate and Audrey Tate and one brother, Louise Lee, are deceased.
Mrs. Tate worked as a recep-tionist at Dr. Dietrich's office and was clerk of LaRue Village for many years. Member of the LaRue Baptist Church, graduated from the LaRue High School in 1919, member of the Phillipi-Clement Post 101 American Legion Auxiliary, LaRue Senior Citizens, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Daughters of American Colonists Captain Francis Marion chapter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at the LaRue Baptist Church. Minister will be the Rev. Tim Pasma. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue, Ohio, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Those who wish may make contributions to the LaRue Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Stan Kennard, Harrison Kennard, Ralph Lee, Paul Savage, Charles Frey and Larry Hause.
