Mary Helen McMahan

Mary Helen McMahan, 88, of Raymond died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Marion General Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a member of the former Progressive Farm Women's Club of York Township. She was a member of the Somersville Friends Church and the Ladies Aid, was a Sunday School teacher and was church treasurer for 40 years.
She was born May 15, 1910, in Delaware County to the late William Frederick and Margaret Edwards Kirk and was predeceased by two brothers, John Kirk and Frank Kirk; a sister, Bertha Matlack and a twin sister, Mae Almendinger. She married Abner H. McMahan Jan. 12, 1935, and he died July 28, 1982.
She is survived by a son, Edgar H. (Carola) McMahan of Richwood; a daughter, Priscilla Jo (John) Kreis of Marion; three grandchildren, Scott (Tenah) McMahan, Christy Fout and Rob McMahan of Richwood; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Morgan and Maggie McMahan and Drew and Andrea Fout of Richwood; and a sister, Hazel Reed of Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. George Freer will officiate and burial will be at the York Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Somersville Friends Church.
