Esther M. Bell


Esther M. Bell, 82, formerly of Mount Vernon Avenue, Marion, died Wednesday morning (Dec. 9, 1998) at Community Health Care Center, Marion.
She was born April 21, 1916 in Prospect to Verne B. and Jennie (Swaney) Gast. Mrs. Bell, a homemaker, was a member of First United Church of Christ in Marion, the Jolly Joysters, and the Prospect and Marion Senior Citizens. She was a volunteer for Marion General Hospital and the Mobile Meals program.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barb Bell of Radnor; a daughter and son-in-law. Judy and Glenn Schultz of Rich-wood; two granddaughters, Tammy Hayward and Penny Cunningham; three great-grandchildren, Halie, Josie, and Jacob; and a brother and sister-in-law, Earnest and Dorothy Gast of Radnor. Her husband of 47 years, Darwin D. Bell, died June 25, 1985. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Schultz.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stofchek Funeral Home, Richwood. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at First UCC, with the Revs. Charles R. Zweizig, Charles Fye, and Carver Williams officiating. Burial will be in Radnor Cemetery.
