Rosemary V. Seiter


NEW BLOOMINGTON — Rosemary V. Seiter, age 84, formerly of New Bloomington, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at 4:55 a.m. at MedCenter Hospital, Marion.
She was born June 6,1914, in Marion, to the late John and Emma (Amman) VonKaenel.
On Jan. 17,1945, she married Paul E. Seiter, and he died Oct. 8, 1987.
She is survived by two sons, Richard P. Seiter Ph.D. of Edwardsville, 111.; Gene G. (Diane) Seiter of Delanson;N.Y.; one daughter, Shirley (David) Palumbo, Ph.D., of Columbus; five grandchildren, Diane Davidson, Columbus; David (Pam) Seiter, Prospect; Cathy Seiter, New York; Mark Seiter, New York; Matthew Seiter, Illinois; and five great-grandchildren, Yvonne Davidson, Candace Davidson, Justin Davidson, Amanda Seiter and Kimberly Seiter; one sister, Emelyn Willacker, formerly of Bucyrus, now of California. One son, James W. Seiter; five brothers, John Kaenel, George VonKaenal, Monsignor Robert VonKaenel, Dr. Joseph VonKaenel and Harry VonKaenel; three sisters, Katherine Wilmes, Mary Zolg and infant Theresa VonKaenal are all deceased.
Mrs. Seiter was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaRue, former member of New Bloomington PTO, Elgin Athletic Boosters, retired from being secretary of New Bloomington School, and was former owner of Seiter's Dairy Queen in New Bloomington.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Dec. 7,1998, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Minister will be Father Joseph Losh. Friends may call at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. A rosary service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
