WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Ernest J. Spitzer, age 73, of 188 Valencia Court, Winter Haven, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at his residence.
He was born March 13,1925, in Marion County, to the late Ernest, F. and Zora (Cook) Spitzer. He is survived by Alice E. (Adams) Spitzer, mother of son, Michael W. Spitzer of Clearmont, Fla.; daughters, Shirley Ann Wantuck of Saline, Mich., Patricia Lynn Spitzer of Austin, Texas, and Cathy Jean Litty of Elkhart, Ind. He is also survived a brother, Frank Spitzer of LaRue; one sister, Jane Stevens of Marion; and six grandchildren. One infant son, Steven, and one infant brother are deceased. He was a security guard at a housing development in Florida, a veteran of World War II serving in the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army, and member of American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at 3 p.m. in LaRue Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Debi Berry. Friends may call at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue from 1-3 p.m. Saturday. There will be military rites conducted at graveside by the Phillippi-Clement Post 101 American Legion, LaRue. | |||
