Cheryl J. Jones


RICHWOOD — Cheryl J. Jones, age 53, of near Richwood, died early Sunday morning Sept. 20, 1998, at MedCenter Hospital in Marion.
She was born Dec. 17, 1944, in LaRue, to parents J. Don and Lois (Glass) Oberdier; they survive near Richwood.
She was a homemaker, 1961 graduate of the Richwood High School, member and co-founder of the Concerned Women for Vietnam Veterans, past president of the Family Support Group of the National Guard and was of the Christian faith.
On Jan. 15, 1972, in Fort Knox, Ky., she married Bill Jones and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Arlene Klingel of Marion; one brother, Don D. (Ann) Oberdier of Vincent; and one sister, Susan J. (James) Fox, Caledonia; three nephews and two nieces and their families. She is also survived by all the members of the A Battery 1st Battalion 134 Field Artillery Unit who were near and dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue, where friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Burial will be in the Price Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Timothy Peria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Cancer Society at 532 Fairwood Drive, Marysville 43040.
Pallbearers will be Will, Russ, Steve and Chuck Oberdier, Jim Fox and David Glass.
