Kathryn Alverta Metz

LARUE — Kathryn Alverta Metz, age 98, formerly of LaRue, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at 1:10 a.m. at Maplewood Nursing Center in Marion, Ohio. ....._
She was born July 2,1900, in Marion County, to the late R. Hillie and Ella D. (Orahood) Cleveland.
On March 30,1922, she married William V Metz and he died Jan. 3,1974.
She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Florence McKinney Metz Mills of Green Valley, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jack L. Metz, who died Dec. 1, 1987. Also four brothers and one sister are deceased.
Mrs. Metz was a homemaker and farm wife, member of the Meeker United Methodist Church, Happy Tyme Club, Meeker Senior Citizens and the LaRue Senior Citizens. She also worked for the old Marion Telephone Company as clerk.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 18,1998, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Dr. Keith Weller. Burial in the Frame Cemetery in Meeker. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue two hours before service time on Friday.
Those who wish may make contributions to either the American Cancer Society or the Meeker United Methodist Church.
