Rachel Eleanor Newhouse

Rachel Eleanor Newhouse, 84, of Richwood died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Heartland of Marysville.
A 1930 graduate of Richwood High School, she was a homemaker and a dedicated and lifelong member of the Richwood First Baptist Church and its Annie Richards Circle.
She was bom Dec. 28, 1913, in Union County to the late Walter and Lulu Mae Flesher Ransome and was predeceased by a brother and a sister. On Sept. 6, 1938, at the home of her grandfather, Abram Ransome, near Rich-wood she married Guy Newhouse and he died Aug. 3, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (David B.) Moreland of Rich-wood and Lena Kay (John) Bauer of Cabot, Ark.; three granddaughters, Dawn Dennis of Magnetic Springs and Sherry and Debra Moreland of Rich-wood; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ben (Polly) Ramsome of Rich-wood; and a sister, Ruth (Harold) Simmons of Richwood.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Richwood. The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, 101 E. Ottawa St., Richwood.
