Alvena Hyacinth Schaber


NEW BLOOMINGTON — Alvena Hyacinth Schaber, age 85, of 623 Schmidt Road, New Bloomington, Ohio, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at 7:25 a.m. at Marion General Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1913, in LaRue, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Rosa (Scherger) Tilton. On June 7, 1936, in Girard, Ohio, she married Carl R. Schaber and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Buford L. (Barbara) Schaber of Marion and Philip C. (Marsha) Schaber of New Bloomington; seven grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; a great-greatgrandchild; and cousins. One sister, Eileen Tilton, is deceased.
Mrs. Schaber was a farm wife and homemaker, member of the New Bloomington United Methodist Church, the Woman's Society at the church, graduated from the LaRue High School and was a former member of the Montgomery Grange.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at 1:30 p.m. at the New Bloomington United Methodist Church. Ministers will be Dr. Keith Weller and Debra Berry. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Those who wish may make contributions to the New Bloomington United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Chris Schaber, Bobby Schaber, Bruce Martin, Gary Steurer, Keith Hunt and Kevin Tobin.
