John M. Mayberry


John M. Mayberry, 80, of Claibourne, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Marysville.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a retired construction worker. He was a member of Advent Christian Church in Claibourne and enjoyed driving the countryside, camping and farming.
He was bom November 11, 1917, in Madison County to the late T.R. and Mina Grace Miller Mayberry and was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Simpson Mayberry, whom he married March 28, 1943, in Greenup, Ky.; a son, John (Jennie) Mayberry of Mechan-icsburg; four daughters, Sharon (Robert) Stillings of Claibourne, Diane (Paul) Rice of Marysville, Mina (Bill) Rose of Mechanicsburg and Lisa (Tim) Cunningham of Claibourne; six brothers, Robert (Macie) Mayberry of Wisconsin, Stanley Mayberry of Plain City, William Mayberry of California, Alfred (Charlotte) Mayberry of Claibourne, Bernard Mayberry of Plain City and Richard Mayberry of Plain City; a sister, Elsie Williams of Powell; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Dan Grose will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Mayberry's grandsons.
