Geneva L. DeWitt


Geneva L. DeWitt, 89, formerly of the York Center area, died Monday, July 6, 1998, at the Community Health Care Center in Marion.
She was retired from the Rockhold Quarry in York Center and had been a resident of Green Camp for 15 years.
She was bom Sept. 5, 1908, in Union County to the late Levi and Mary Etta Longberry Rockhold. She was preceded in death by a son, James Lowell DeWitt; four brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Richard William "Bill" DeWitt, whom she married August 14, 1928 in Columbus; two brothers, Burl (Vema) Rockhold of Marysville and Howard (Mary) Rockhold of York Center; and five sisters, Mabel Eastman of Richwood, Edna Fausnaugh of Ashland, Mo., Bobbie (Harold) Gardner of Westerville, Fannie (Paul) Hoffman of Richwood and Florence Fisher of Venice, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Burial will be in the York Cemetery and the Rev. Charles Fye will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Camp Fire Department.
