Jim J. Kinikin


Jim J. Kinikin, 51, of the Byhalia area died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Union Manor Nursing Center after an illness of three years.
He was a 1964 graduate of Richwood High School and served two tours in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as an overhead crane operator for 15 years at Marion Power Shovel and later at the former West Mansfield elevator. He attended the Somersville Friends Church and was an outdoor man who enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting and fishiing.
He was born June 26, 1946, in Kenton to th6 late Otis and Mary Sherwood Kinikin and was predeceased by a brother, Kenny, and a sister, Joy Lynn.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Howe Kinikin, whom he married June 20, 1970, at the Somersville Friends Church; a son, Todd J. Kinikin of Byhalia; three daughters, Jodi Kinikin of Columbus and Robyn and Barbara Kinikin of the home; two brothers, Dennis (Betty) Kinikin of Richwood and Keith Kinikin of Columbus; two sisters, Janet Garrison of Huntsville and Terri (Bill) Lowery of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Burial will be at the Price Cemetery where graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Baccarat Post 40 and VFW Post 870 of Richwood. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 253 E. Church St., Marion, Ohio 43302.
