Edith L. Cope


Edith L. Cope, 76, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, at the home of her daughter in Richwood where she had been living. DECEASED She was formerly of Richwood and had lived much of the last 18 years in the Bradenton, Fla., area. She was retired from the B.F. Goodrich Industrial Products in Green Camp, retiring in 1982 after more than 30 years of service, and was a member and past officer of Local 241 U.R.W. in Marion. She served on the Richwood Board of Public Affairs and was a past council president and was past president of the Sixth District American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion Unit 24 in Bradenton.
She was a member of VFW 870 Auxiliary in Richwood, Salon 251 of the 40 et 8 in Marion, life member .of DAV Auxiliary 18 in Bradenton, Moose Lodge Auxiliary 206 in Columbus. She was a member of the Manatee County Veterans Council and Richwood First United Methodist Church and an honorary member of the Tampa Bay Bascha CBI.
She was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Union County to the late John R. and Florence Pendleton Jerew. She married James W. Cope May 25, 1956, and he died July 23, 1985.  
She is survivedby a daughter, Susie (Gary) Crofut'of Richwood; a grand-daughter, Kimberiy (Mike) Ryan of Marysville; a grandson, Kevin (Lacie) Crofut.of Richwood; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Bethany Crofut.  
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Wilbur Boyer will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends maycall from 6 to 8 p.m. today.      
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Emergency Squad Association in care of the funeral home.
