James H. Johnson

NEW BLOOMINGTON — James H. Johnson, 63, New Bloomington, died June 5, 1997 at MedCenter Hospital.
Born Aug. 27,1933, in the house where he presently lived, he was the son of the late Gomer and Genevieve (Sylvester) Johnson.
On May 20, 1953, he married Jean Harrison, and she survives.
A farmer, he had been a member of the New Bloomington Fire Department since 1950, was a member of New Bloomington United Methodist Church and the gospel quartet at the church. He was past president of the Marion County Farm Bureau, a 4-H advisor for more than 25 years and eanred the American Farmer degree in 1955.
He is also survived by a son, John H. (Vicki) Johnson, Green Camp; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Joy) Watkins, LaRue; a sister, Margaret Harruff, Perrysburg; and a grand-son.
The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Revs. Keith Weller and Vidya Rampal officiating. Burial is in Agosta Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bloomington Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, in care of Marion Bank, Marion, Ohio 43302.
Pallbearers will be Horry Johnson, Billy Johnson, David Foster, Reese Wallace, Wilbur Johnson and Robert Imbody.
