Harold Merwyn Burbaugh


LARUE — Harold Merwyn Burbaugh, 87, 9767 Harding Highway W., died Friday at his residence May 24, 1997.
Born July 29, 1909, in LaRue, he was the son of the late John Christian and Minnie Frances (Garwood) Burbaugh.
On Nov. 7, 1932, he married Dorothy H. Swick, who survives.
He was a self-employed farmer, carpenter and electrician, member of the Marion Senior Center, Salem United Church of Christ, former member of the Tymochtee Grange and American Association for Retired Persons. Fond of music, he played in the Old Time Band of LaRue, New Bloomington Orchestra and LaRue Legion Band and
played organ at
area    nursing BURBAUGH    homes      until
November.
He is also survived by a son, Robert L. Burbaugh, Marseilles; a daughter, Mrs. -Daniel {Shirley) Schroll, LaRue; a sister, Maxine Cluff, Marion; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stofcheck Funeral Home with the Revs. Floyd Stevens and Adrian Sunday officiating.
Burial is in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
Paul bearers will be John Burbaugh, Douglas Burbaugh, Daryl Burbaugh, Jay Bowles, Scott Bowles and Paul Stephan.
