Dr. Lloyd E. Moore


Dr. Lloyd E. Moore, 69, of Delaware, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1996, at his residence.
Dr. Moore was a graduate of Magnetic Springs High School in 1945. He then graduated from Ohio University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity. He then received his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. Beginning in 1955, he worked in family practice in Magnetic Springs. While there he worked with the Polio Hospital. He stayed in Magnetic Springs for 25 years before opening a practice in Prospect where he stayed for 11 years. Then he moved on to Delaware where he practiced until the present.
He has been on the active staff at Grady Memorial Hospital since 1955. He was an active member of the American Academy of Family Practice; the Delaware County, Ohio State and American Medical Associations; Royal Society of Medicine in London, England; and the Prospect American Legion Post 368.
Dr. Moore was a U.S, Navy veteran of World War II and a member and pastor of God's Country Church on Wheeler-Green Road, Marysville.
He was born May 30, 1927, in Marion, to Cloice and Essie (Hildreth) Moore.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jan M. and Rick Lower of Prospect; a son, Ross Moore of Waldo; two grandchildren, Hannah and Jessie Lower; a brother, Fred Moore of Florida; and best friends, Elaine and Ron Benedict
Following cremation and private burial in Hopewell Cemetery there will be a public memorial service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Dr. Louis C. Huesmann will be the speaker. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
