Donald L. Salyer


Donald L. Salyer, 60, of Richwood died unexpectedly Thursday, May 2, 1996, at his residence.
He owned and operated the former Gulf and Arco gas stations in Richwood and worked as a truck driver for Union County. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Baccarat Post 40 of Rich-wood, VFW Post 870 of Richwood and the First Baptist Church in Richwood.
He was bom June 5,1935, in Richwood to Virgil and Clarabelle Shark Salyer. He was predeceased by his father, a grandson, Stephen, and a brother, Leroy.
He is survived by his mother, a son, Keith E. Salyer of Richwood; two daughters, Valerie S. Seibert of Delaware and Natalie J. Jolliff of Hilliard; a stepson, Tony (Debbie) Pyers of West Mansfield; five grandchildren, Sebastian, Haley, Levi, Jared and Ashley; and a sister, Karen (Dan) Converse of Richwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and interment will be at the Price Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the Richwood VFW and American Legion posts. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Dick Lewis, John Willis, Keith Salyer, Tony Pyers, Phil Coleman and Lawrence Shark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the North Union Athletic Boosters.
