Delbert H. Greenwood


Delbert H. Greenwood, 78, 3760 Richwood-LaRue Road, died 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 1995 at Community Nursing Center, Marion.
He was born Feb. 4,1916, in Meeker, to the late Jesse and Nellie (Typsword) Greenwood. On June 25, 1939, he married Marjorie Grappy and she survives.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Greenwood was a retired carpenter, a member of the Carpenters Union Local 976, Marion, a 50-year member of the LaRue United Methodist Church, and a member of the former Bowling Green Grange.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Charles Jeffrey Greenwood, Worthing; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Penny) May, Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Donald R. Greenwood, New Bloomington; a sister, Irene Bamber, Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Rev. James Mason
officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
