George L. Beckley


RICHWOOD — George L. Beckley, 63, Longberry Road, died early Tuesday November 22, 1994 at his home, having been in failing health for five months.
. He was born Oct. 3, 1931, in Marion County, a son of the late George H. and Bertha E. (Black) Beckley.
Mr. Beckley retired as a crane operator with the former Armco Steel Co., and was a self-employed general contractor serving the Richwood area. He was a Jackson Township trustee, active in the Emmaus Community, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Beckley attended Essex United Methodist Church, Union Baptist Church and Mount Pleasant Church of God.
On June 25,  1981, in Essex, he married the former Judith K. Pfeiffer, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Rick L. Beckley, Richwood, and Randel E. Beckley, Raymond; a daughter, Ronda Snyder, Prospect; four brothers, William Beckley, LaRue, Kenneth Beckley, Delaware, Earl Beckley, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and John Beckley, Richwood; a sister, Mrs. Dwight(Lena) Murray, Kenton; and nine grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased. -
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Essex United Methopdist Church with; the Rev. Bernard Kenney officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetary. Friends may call at Stofcheck Funeral Home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.  .
Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Davis, Chuck McNamee, Scott McNamee, Marvin Porschett, Larry. Anderson and David Ehret. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Thomas L., Leroy T., Daniel W. and Michael A.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim class or Women's Society of Essex UM Church, Quality of Life Hospice at Marion General Hospital, or Central Ohio Emmaus Community.
