Earl Alva Hiles


RICHWOOD—Earl Alva Hiles, 72, Caledonia, died Friday November 18, 1994.
He had been a Caledonia resident for the past 15 years. Prior to that he had been a resident of the Richwood area.
Born Aug. 5, 1922, in Chillicothe, he was the son of Arthur S. and Delia (Adkins) Hiles. On March 11,1951, he married the former Barbara Spain in Columbus. She died Dec. 28, 1972.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a retired machinist at the former Marion Power Shovel, where he had worked for 20 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Marion.      
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Hyett, Caledonia; a brother, Jesse C. Hiles, Chillicothe; a sister, Roberta Lennon, Salida, Calif.; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a sister.
Graveside services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Claibourne Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Officiating is Orvilla A. Wing, First Counselor, Marion Branch Presidency, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints., 72, Caledonia, died Friday.
