Ernest "Gene" Saunders

RICHWOOD — Ernest "Gene" Saunders, 68, Windsor Manor Apartments, Marysville, died Monday evening April 18, 1994 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born April 24, 1925, in Gallipolis, a son of the late Heber and Ernestine (Hally) Saunders.
He was retired after serving as manager of an automobile dealership for more than 30 years, and was a member of Magnetic Springs United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 26, 1946, in Magnetic Springs, he married the former Julia M. Cross, and she survives.
Mr. Saunders also is survvied by two sons, Terry E. Saunders, Ostrander, David L. Saunders, Richwood; a daughter, Linda L. Scheiderer, Marysville; a brother, George Freeman, Marysville; three sisters, Mary Jo Treadway, Kenton, June McCarty and Joan Cox, Magnetic Springs; seven grandchyildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother, a sister, and three grandchilren.
The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stofcheck Funeral Home with Dr. M.A. Kunkle officiating. Burial t will follow in Claiboume Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-Care Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
