Mary Electa Johnson


Mary Electa Johnson, 95, formerly Kiwanis Village, LaRue, died Wednesday evening February 23, 1994 at Green Acres Nursing Home, Kenton.
She was born May 8. 1898, in Wyandot County, a daughter of William and Jennie (Hall) Dawson.
The homemaker was a member of LaRue United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and In His Name Circle, LaRue Senior Citizens, Happy Villagers, and Tymochtee Grange. She was a former member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, Embroidery Club and Rebecca Lodge, Marseilles.
OnMay 10,1916, she married Alvin M. Johnson, and he died Aug. 28,1946.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Burton Eugene Johnson, Kenton; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Alice) Johnson, Kenton; a brother, Ira Dawson, Dunkirk; 12 grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.
,:She .was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, two brothers and a sister.
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Rev. David M. Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery, Marseilles.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to LaRue UM Church.
