Philipp H. Nickel

Philipp H. Nickel, 79, of Richwood, died Thursday afternoon February 12, 1994 at the Memorial Hospital of Union County.
He was born July 10, 1914 in Bruchobel, Germany, son of the late Henry and Marie Kathryn (Stroh) Nickel Sr. On Oct. 27, 1938, he married the former Lillie May Owen. She died Aug.. 12,1991.
He worked as a maintenance man at the formerB .F. Goodrich Plant in Green Camp for 27-years. Nickel was a farmer  and member of the Methodist faith. He also was a member of the Lima Beagle Club and the Clarke County Beagle Club,
Nickel is survived by two sons, Walter E. Nickel of Richwood and Howard L. Nickel of La Fontaine, Ind.; two daughters, Barbara Ann Kifkpatrick of Marysville and Carol Sue Bumgarner of West Mansfield; two brothers, Henry Nickel of Milford, and Karl (Lud) Nickel of Caledonia; and one sister, Mrs. Helena Fyfe of Marion; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Another sister is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Friends may call Sunday  from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in the Byhalia Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Shimfessel officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the Diabetes Association.
