Clifton Henry Wenig


Clifton Henry Wenig, 90, 647 N. Section St. (Kiwanis Village), LaRue, died Friday evening September 17, 1993 at Maplewood Nursing Center, Marion.
He was born in Haskins March 13, 1903, a son of Henry and Anna Bechsteen Wenig.
The    1922 Haskins    High School graduate received        a bachelor's degree in agriculture in 1926 from The Ohio State University. Following four years teaching vocational ag-       riculture at Coshocton High School, Mr. Wenig moved in 1930 to Montgomery Township near Meeker where he starting farming.
He was a member and past president of the Mari on County Farm B ureau and also had served as president, of the Marion County Fair Board arid Marion County School Board. He was a 65-year member of Montgomery Grange, member of LaRue United Methodist Church and LaRue Kiwanis Club.
On Aug. 1, 1983, he married the former Mildred Weist Beck, who survives; His first wife, the former Josephine Reussner, whom he married June 10,1928, died May 20,1958. He then married the former Caroline Baldinger June 16,1963, and she died
in 1982. ._       ___
Mr. Wenig also is survived by four sons, Henry Charles Wenig, Canal Winchester, Dwight Leo Wenig, LaRue, George Dale Wenig and Ralph Allen Wenig, New Bloomington; three stepsons, Robert Heller, LaRue, Philip Weist, DePere, Wisc, and James Weist, Warrensville, 111.; two stepdaughters, Edna Bowersock, Caledonia, and Rosalie Alltop, Marysville; a brother, Merle Wenig, Weston; two sisters, Esther DeVerna, Metamora, and Anna Christian, Toledo; 18 grandchildren: 19 great-grandchildren; and stegrandchildren and stepgreat-grand-children.
