Leo Forrest "Whoopie" Price

RICHWOOD — Former area resident Leo Forrest "Whoopie" Price, 89, died Sunday evening August 15, 1993 at Community Nursing Center, Marion.  He was bom Sept. 20, 1903, in Jackson Township, a son of Chris and Lilly (Trapp) Price.
He was the former owner-operator ofPrice Sawmill, Essex, was a member of Essex United Methodist Church, North Star Lodge452 of the Knights of Pymias,had served on the Union County Fair Board for more than 20 years, and was a former member of Mount Olive Grange.    
On Aug. 23, 1924, he married the former Vida La Von Reynolds, and she died Jan. 7,1986.
Mr. Price is survived by four sons, Glenn R. Price, Lakeview, Earl A. Price, LaRue, William L. Price, Richwood, and Robert O. Price, Holmcomb, N.Y.; three daughters, Elsie L. Wiley, North Muskingham, Mich., Mrs. Robert (Inez) Emptage, Marion, Mrs. Merle (Mary) McElroy, Richwood; 31 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stofcheck Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernard Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Essex United Methodist Church.
