Clarence E. Gulliford


ESSEX — Clarence E. Gulliford, 88, of Baldwin Road, died Friday April 30, 1993 at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Colum- - bus.
He was bom March 31, 1905, in Bement, 111., son of the late Herbert and Mabel High Gulliford. On May 8, 1932, he married Marjorie Seckel in Kirkpatrick. She survives.
Gulliford was a retired farmer, a school bus driver for the North Union Schools and a Jackson Township Trustee for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Essex United Methodist Church, the Marion County Steam and Gas Engine Society, lay speaker for the United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher for many years and a graduate of Caledonia High School.
In addition to his wife, Gulliford is survived by his son, Edwin Gulliford, Green Camp; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Eloise) Nixt and Mrs. Fred (Elaine) Thieken, both of Marion; eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, and four step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Glendora) Robinson, Marion, and Mrs. Lucile Donley. Venice, Fla.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Essex United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bernard Kenney officiating. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Essex Methodist or Children's Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
