Kenneth J. Coon

Kenneth J. Coon, 83, 4321 Harding Highway W., died Monday evcening January 25, 1993 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born in Marion County July 13,1909,the son ofHenry andBlanche Kannel Coon.
The retired farmer also had been employed as groundskeeper at the Manon County Fairgrounds, and served for over 40 years as a 4-H adviser. He was a member of Meeker United Methodist Church, Marion Moose Lodge, and Prospect, Marion and Meeker Senior Citizens. He was a charter member of Meeker Sportsman Club, and a member of Paradise Park, Texas, Singles Club.
His wife, the former Mae Gustin, died Aug. 5, 1985, They were married Oct. 7. 1936.
Mr. Coon is survived By a son, Merl Coon, Alameda. Calif.; adaughter, Mrs. Charles (Judy) Chapman, Marion; two grandchildren, five stegrandchildren, a great-grandchild and three stepgreat-grandchildren. A sister is deceased.
The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue. with the Rev. David M. Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Jordan, Jim Pfleider, Harold Van Meter, Sam Chapman, Clyde Sappington and Robert Handley. Honorary pallbearer is Charles Maulden.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Meeker UM, or Paradise Park Singles Club in care of the funeral home.
