Steling Clifford Wittibslager


LaRUE — Steling Clifford Wittibslager, 80, 21 McCormick Street, LaRue, died at 2:25 p.m. Monday at MedCenter Hospital Nov 9, 1992.
He was bom July 5,1912, in Hardin County, the son of Clifford and Blanche Howard Wittibslager. He married Alice Lucille Hoffman March 27, 1932, and she died March 5,1990.
He was employed for 28 years with National Limestone Co. as a driller and a trucker. He also served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Wittibslager is survived by a son, Gene Wittibslager of LaRue; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Shirley) James, and Mrs. William (Donna) Persinger, both of LaRue; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a step-great grandchild. A brother Howard and a grandson, Brian Persinger, preceded him in death.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Rev. David Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-5 and 1-9 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Phillippi-Clement Post 101 American Legion of LaRue. Pallbearers will be Doug Wittibslager, Tom Wittibslager, Mike James, Steve Persinger, William Persinger and Alan Blumensheid.
Memorial contributions may be made to LaRue United Methodist Church memorial fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
