Howard L. May


RICHWOOD — The service for Howard L. May, 77, Ohio 47 East, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stofcheck Funeral Home. Burial with military graveside rites by Richwood American Legion and VFW posts will follow in Claibourne Cemetery, with Tom Gwynn officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. May died Sunday evening Nov 8, 1992 at Marion General Hospital following an
extended illness.
He was born March 15, 1915, in Weston, W.Va., a son of Edgar and Ida Burr May. The World War II U.S. Army veteran had been employed with Abex Corporation, Marysville, retiring 1979. He was a member of VFW Post 870 Richwood.
On Oct. 4,1946, in Marion, he married the former Helen Tanner, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth May, Tennessee, and Robert May, Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Peggy Kilroy, Baltimore, Md.; three stpesons, Pete Erwin, Jacksonville, Fla., and James and Jerry Erwin, Columbus; a stepdaughter, Pat Adams, Ironton; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Wetherbee, Wellington, and Mrs. Helen Francis, Shinnston, W.Va.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A daughter, a brother and two sisters are deceased.
