Robert Willis Cook


Robert Willis Cook, 65, 10027 Rubins Road, LaRue, died early Sunday Sept 1, 1991 at Americare Nursing Center, Marion.
He was bom Feb. 11, 1926, in LaRue, the son of the late Nelson A. and Opal Mae Clay Cook.
The owner of Sally Ann Restaurant operated that business for 36 years. He had also served as a guard and firefighter with General Services Administration, Marion, 20 years. Mr. Cook was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and then served with the Kenton unit of the U.S. Army Reserves 14 years. He was a member of Marseilles United Methodist Church, LaRue Ki-wanis Club, and American Legion.
He married the former Esther M. Markley June 18, 1950, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Susan L.) Emans, Marion, and Peggy Lee Cook, Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. John (Nancy) Dickason, Galena; four grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by American Legion Phillippi-Clement Post 101 will follow in LaRue Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. and in the evening Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Marseilles UM or the American Cancer Society.
