Damon Spicer


Feb 28, 1991- The service for Damon Spicer, 81, Crestline, formerly LaRue, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, with the Rev. David Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens, Marion.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Spicer died Thursday evening at Village Care Center, Galion.
The native of Fostoria was born May 10, 1909, a son of Adelbert and Eva Thomasson Spicer.
He was a retired supervisor with the Marion Correctional Institution, where he worked for 29 years. Mr. Spicer attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline, and was a former member of LaRue Lodge 463 F&AM, and the Weekenders Club.
His first wife, the former Delores M. Pulse, whom he married 1925, died June 24, 1977. He then married the former Georgia Wintringham July 15, 1978, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs.  Charles (Avanelle) Fein, Mason; two stepsons, Robert Penry, Crestline, and  John Exenkamper, Fort Lauderdale, Ha.; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Clutter, Crestline, Mrs. Richard (Sally) Ross, Pickerington, Mrs. i Joe (Mary) Gottfried, Mobile, Ala.,  and Mrs. Joe (Judy) Kleinknecht, Gal- ion; a brother, Don Spicer, Italy; three jgrandchildren, three great-grandchil- dren, 14 stegrandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
