RICHWOOD — Former local resident Nellie R. Thompson, 82, died this morning Sept 15, 1989 at Union Manor nursing home, Marysville.
She was bom in Broadway Feb. 4, 1907, a daughter of John William and Blanche McAdow Yamngton.
A former Richwood correspondent with The Marion Star and Marysville Tribune and a Claiboume post mistress, Mrs. Thompson at one time also worked with Sieg's Drugstore and the Polio Hospital, Magentic Springs. She was valedictorian of her high school class and a member of First Baptist Church, Richwood Garden Club and Civic Center.
On Nov. 16, 1927, she married Robert Thompson, and he died Nov. 30.1977.
Surviving are a son, Mike Thompson, Richwood; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Shank, Columbus, and Mrs. Wilma Ross, Richwood; two brothers, Hal Yarrington, North Carolina, and Mason Yarrington, Texas; a sister, Cecil Schneider, West Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Marialyce Fry, is deceased, as are two brothers and a sis- ter.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. i Monday at Stofcheck Funeral Home  with the Rev. A. David Donnelly officiating. Burial will be in Claiboume Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Emergency Squad Association.
