Florence Jennie Gorton

Florence Jennie Gorton, 71, 66 W. Vine St., LaRue, died Friday evening Oct 7, 1988 at Marion General Hospital.
A native of Concord, N.Y., she was born June 9, 1917, a daughter of Devillo and Delia Webber Hall.
Coming from, Pennsylvania, she had resided in LaRue for 15 years and operated an answering service for St. Joseph Catholic Church, of which she was a member, out of her home for five years. She also was a member of the church's Women's Guild.  
Her- first husband,', Warner Ellis, whom she married in 1932, died in 1944: She then married Francis Gorton in 1963, and he died in 1977.
Surviving are eight sons and a daughter, living in New York and Pennsylvania; a brother, Edverdo Hall, Dale, N.Y.; and two sisters of New. York; grandchildren; and great grandchildren,
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
A very close friend, Priscilla "Sid" Tucker, LaRue, who took care of her for many years, also survives.  Friends may call at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, after 2 p.m. today and in the evening. A prayer: service is planned for 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral mass will be 9 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church, LaRue, with Father Dean Mathewson officiating.  
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m; Tuesday in Maplewood Cemetery, Springville, N.Y.
