Howard Wittibslager


Services for Howard Wittibslager will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Stof-check Funeral Home, LaRue, by the Rev. James Mason, with burial in
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday, and Tuesday evening.
He died at approximately 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 1987, at his residence.
He was born March 13, 1914, in Hardin County, to Clifford and Blanche (Howard) Wittibslager. On Oct. 10, 1937, he married Alma 'Peggie' Curtis and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James R. of Dundee, Mich., and Gary H. of Marion; two daughters, Patricia J. Sessler of Marion and Barbara M. Photiades of Port Orange, Fla.; a brother, Sterling, of LaRue; six grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
He retired in 1976 from Gustav-Hirsch Electric Co., where he had served as vice president. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 683. He was a 1933 LaRue High School graduate. During World War II he was part of the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge, Tenn. He received an award of merit from the Secretary of War in 1945.
