Jack L. Metz


Dec 1, 1987- - The service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, for Jack L. Metz, Des Plaines, 111., formerly of LaRue.
The Revs. Dean Mathewson and Jerry Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Meeker Cemetery.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Mullenix Hackett Foundation for Cancer Prevention, P.O. Box 166, Golf, III. 60029.
Mr. Metz died at 4:11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Hospital, Des Plaines.
He was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Marion to the late William V;. and Kathryn Cleveland ''Metz" who survives in LaRue.  Before retiring, he was a design engineer for Teletype Co. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Des Plaines. He also was a member of Telephone Pioneers and
National Association of Watch and Clock Makers.
Also surviving is his wife, Florence McKihney Metz.
