Walter C. Hitt


RICHWOOD — Walter C. Hitt, 65, 17102 Ohio 47, died Monday morning Dec. 21, 1987 at his residence.
He was born here April 2, 1922, a son of the late Howard and Mina Belle Tropp Hitt.
A truck driver with the 3-C Trucking Co., he was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Hitt was a member of American Legion and VFW Millcreek Memorial Post 3320, Marysville, a past member of Union County REACT, and a member of Teamsters Local 413 and. Buckeye State Sheriff's Association.
On Sept. 10, 1954, he married the former Etta Mae Beard, and she survives.    
Also surviving are two sons, Walter W. Hitt, Richwood, and John W. Hitt, Van Nuys, Calif.; eight daughters, Mrs. Robert (Miriam) Blue and Mrs. Dennis (Mildred) Nickelson, both Richwood, Mrs. Mina Louise Fisher, Clovis, Calif.,
Mrs. David (Mary Lou) Morgan, Anchorage, Alaska, Mrs. Raymond (Diana) Yaker, Van Nuys, Mrs.  Steven (Loretta) Bailey, Bremerton,  Wash., Kathy Ablous, Fresno, Calif.,  and Mrs. Patty Price, Honolulu,  Hawaii; two sisters, Celis Evans, Upper Sandusky, and Ruth K. Berry, Barnhart Street, Marion; and many i grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Two sisters and six brothers are deceased.
1 The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Stofcheck Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl A. Cosand officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery,
Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be / made to Summersville Friends Church.
