Lois Roux


Services for Lois Roux will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Bloomington United Methodist Church by the Rev. Don Davis with burial in LaRue -Cemetery.
Friends may call at Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue, after 2 p.m. Wednesday and Wednesday evening. Memorials may be made to OSU Dental College Scholarship fund in. memory of Dr. Don Scott Greenwood, care of OSU Development Fund, Fawcett Center, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
She died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, May 26, 1986, at Marion Health Care Center, Marion.
She was born Sept. 23, 1895, in Big Island Township, to Isaac N. and Inez (Britton) Dickason. She married Harold S. Roux on Aug. 22,1914, and he died July 19, 1935.
Surviving are a son, Richard D. of LaRue; five daughters, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Greenwood, Mrs. Raymond  (June) Appelfeller and Mrs. Robert (Rayda) Jones, all of LaRue, Mrs. Harry (Jane) Appelfeller of Mount Victory, and Mrs. Charles (Eloise) Lust of Marion; 15 grandchildren; 32 greatgrandchildren; , and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Esther) Britton of LaRue. A son, a brother, four sisters and a grandson are deceased.
She was a member of of the News Bloomington United Methodist Church. She attended Miami University and was a teacher at. the Harramon School, near Espyville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, LaRue; Capitan William Hendricks Chapter of the DAR; and was a life member of Rebekah Lodge, New Bloomington, and a Democratic Committeewoman in Marion County.
