He died Dec 25, 1973 11:30 p.m. Tuesday near Espyville while coon hunting.
He was born Sept. 27, 1930 in New Bloomington to Ira Donald and Geneva Isabelle Sousley Johnson. They both survive at Espyville Road North.
On April 7, 1956 he was married to Geraldine Irene Perkins Smith and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons Mark and Douglas, a daughter Lea Ann all at home and a brother David of Sycamore, 111.
He was employed at Pollock Steel, Marion, for 18 years.
Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, LaRue, with the Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Stofcheck Funeral Home, LaRue.
