William V. Metz

He died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan 3, 1974 at Hardin Memorial Hospital after a week's illness.
He was born Dec. 13, 1892, in Marion County to David and Emma (McClellan) Metz.
He was married March 30, 1922, in Columbus to Kathryn A. Cleveland, who survives, along with a son, Jack LeMoyne Metz of Des Plains, 111.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Carpenter of Meeker; Mrs. Oliver Withrow of LaRue and Mrs. Esther Dawson of Marion; and a brother Lester of Galion.
Three sisters are deceased.
About 1910 he taught school for some seven years in the Meeker area. He had a barber shop in Oakland Heights in Marion for some 30 years. He was World War I veteran and a member of the Meeker Senior Citizens.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue by the Rev. Vidya Rampal, with burial in Meeker Cemetery.
