Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue with the Rev. Vidya Rampall officiating. Burial will be in Agosta Cemeterv.
He died unexpectedly at 8 p.m. Wednesday while in Rich-wood. He was born Aug. 15, 1907, in Carroll County, Fla., to James M, and Harriett (Creel) Johnson. He had lived in the LaRue area since 1927. He worked as a farmer and also was employed with the Producers Livestock Co.        
He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Florida; a former member of the Marion County Fair Board, New Bloomington school board member, a former board member of the Federal Land Bank and the Production Credit offices in Marion.
He married Genevieve Sylvester Aug. 27, 1927, in LaRue and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George (Margaret) Harruff of Perrysburg; one son, James H. of New Bloomington; four grandchildren; two brothers, M. F. Johnson and Perry both of Carroll County, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. W. D. Duncan, Mrs. Homer Wallace and Mrs. Ray Foster, all of Carroll County, Fla., and Mrs. L. J. White of Bremen, Ga.
