Carl J., 83 Route 2, LaRue Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue with the Rev. James Mason officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. He died Today at 12:23 a.m. at Hardin Memorial Hospital after a two-week illness. He was born Sept. 24, 1891 to Jacob W. and Rose (Hess) Grappy. He married Anna E. Stroud Jan. 21, 1914 and she survives. He was a member of the LaRue Untied Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Bowling Green Grange, a member of the Eagle Lodge of Marion, and was a former trustee of Bowling Green Township. Grappy worked for the New York (now Penn) Central railroad and was a farmer at the Route 2 address. Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Laverne) McMahan of Rich-wood; Mrs. Delbert (Margie) Greenwood of LaRue, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Sickmiller of Caledonia, Mrs. Anna Mae Watkins of Marion and Mrs. Robert (Lois Jean) Donnelly of Litchfield; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Emerson of Mt. Victory; and one sister, Mrs. C. J. Schneider of Lima. One brother and three sisters are deceased. Friends may call at the funeral home any time after 2 p.m. Wednesday. | |||
