George Franklin Oliver Sr., 73, of Richwood died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003,
at his home after a two-month illness. He was a painter and was employed by Joe E. Davis Realtors. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was born March 24, 1929, in Crown City to the late Jasper Franklin and Mary Leona Rice Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Helen Nance Oliver whom he married March 4, 1949; two daughters, Eleanor Ruth Stites of Columbus and Linda Sue Wuescher of Cardington; two sons, George Franklin Oliver Jr. of Richwood and Mark Allen Oliver; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary (Frank) Nance of Gallipolis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. | |||
