Dwight H. "Ike" Hornbeck


Dwight H. "Ike" Hornbeck, 72, of Prospect, lifetime resident of Marion County went home to be with the Lord Jesus early Sunday morning, Dec. 28, 2003. He was employed by the Whirlpool Corporation for thirty years in the quality control department. A member of the US Air Force, he served four years (1952-55) with the USAF-114th AC & W. Sq. in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  Born December 5, 1931 in Marion, to Marvin Hornbeck and Geneva (Howison) Hornbeck, both deceased. On August, 30, 1975, he was joined in marriage with Betty (Robinson) Hornbeck. She survives in Prospect.  Also surviving are four children: Sanford (Jean) Hornbeck, Ruth Reeve, Sonya  (Tim) Rogers and Lyle Hornbeck, all from the Marion area; three step-children: Herbert (Jane) Tollo, Pickerington; Greg (Eliza) Tolle, Marion; Vickie (John) Thompson, South Carolina; four sisters: Marion Wortman, Thirza Shaw, Margorie Chard, Bonnie Hamblin; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-children. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Hornbeck.  Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect is in charge of graveside services to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the Prospect Cemetery with Pastor John Jones officiating.  Marion County Veterans Council is in charge of military services.  Contributions may be made to Love, Inc. of Marion County.
