Davena "Dena" Louise Oswald, 76, of Prospect died Thursday, Nov. 14,
2002, at Wintersong Village in Delaware, surrounded by loving family members. In her younger days, she was heavily involved in sports, She showed talent in basketball, playing for the Gray Toppers, and she enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball for Wilke Meats of Delaware. She later took up golf and bowling and was a member of the State Champion Ohio Women's Bowling Team in 1965. Her life revolved around her family. She was born March 7, 1926, in Radnor to the late David R. and Ada E. Mohr Thomas and was predeceased by three sisters, Evelyn Gast, Ruth Thomas and Margaret Lockhart; and a brother, David Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Arthur R. Oswald of Prospect whom she married March 14, 1944; four sons, Michael Oswald of Jackson, Mich., Richard (Lois) Oswald of Radnor, Thomas Oswald of Hudson and Steven (Lisa) Oswald of Prospect; a daughter, Tammy (David) Layne of Prospect; 15 grandchildren, Tessa (Craig) Thompson, Jon Oswald, Lisa (Doug) Smith, Richard Oswald II, Adam Boyer, Liz Boyer, Damon Parmenter, Angela Oswald, Owen Oswald, Scott, Dennis, Kirk and Timothy Millisor and Joseph and Jacob Layne; three great-grandsons, Grant Smith and Caleb and Kieran Thompson; a sister, Anna Grieser of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Joyce Thomas of Marion; a special niece, Ruth Ann Rodgers; and a good friend, Charlotte Mason. Private family services will be held Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
