Edwin Emerson Manville, 89, of Kettering, formerly of Delaware, died
Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Kettering Memorial Hospital. He was a farmer and worked at Pollack Steel in Marion. He was a member of the Magnetic Springs United Methodist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the U.S.S. West Virginia. He was born May 27, 1912, in Delaware to the late Emerson B. and Cora T. Brown Manville and was predeceased by a son, E. Gene Manville; a daughter, Mary Lou Fitzpatrick; and a grandson, Lee Manville. He married Gertrude Parrott May 14, 1932, in Fletcher and she died in February 1990. He is survived by a son, Malcolm (Fae) Manville of Magnetic Springs; a daughter, Margaret Ann Cunningham of Kettering; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Manville of Delaware; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Debbie Nance will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
