Irma M. Landon


Irma M. Landon, 85, of Richwood, formerly of Marysville, died suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at her home.  She was a 1935 graduate of Richwood High School and had attended the Marysville First Baptist Church.  She especially enjoyed her family and socializing at the Richwood Civic Center.  She was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Essex to the late Charles and Laurana Salyer Collins and was predeceased by a son, Marion Landon on June 25, 1996; two grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Walter Collins; and two sisters, Glada Maxine Collins and Vera Pryor. She married Harold T. Landon Nov. 10, 1938, in Magnetic Springs and he died Oct. 18, 1998.  She is survived by three daughters; Janet (Ron) Carr of Prospect; Judy (Don) Harshfield of West Mansfield and Jean Straley and special friend, Earl Stump of Marengo; a daughter-in-law, Georgia Landon of Marysville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Annabel (LaMoyne) Converse of Richwood and Dorothy Landon of Milford Center; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Vi Ferguson of Richwood.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Peter Miller Jr. will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Civic Center, 235 Grove St., Richwood. Ohio 43344. The Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home in Marysville is handling arrangements.
