Robert E. "Bud" Hines, 73, of Somersville died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002,
at his home after a nine-month illness. He was retired after 36 years as fire marshal for the Whirlpool Corporation. After retirement, he was instrumental in opening the Richwood Auction Center with Ted Pfarr and was the overseeing manager. He was a 1948 graduate of York Center High School and a member of the Whirlpool Retirement Organization. He was born Jan. 27, 1929, to the late Glenn and Carrie Wattering Hines and was predeceased by two sisters, Clara Mae Baker and Helen Boole. He is survived by his wife, Helen Jean Wood Hines whom he married April 17, 1949; a daughter, Linda (John) Miller of Richwood; two sons, Steve (Mary Ann) Hines of Marysville and Roger (Lisa) Hines of Indian Lake; three grandchildren, Lori (John) Nenzoski, Kirby Hines and Cody Hines; a great-grandchild, Matthew Nenzoski; two step-grandchildren, Chris Taylor and Ashley Taylor; a sister, Wanda Foreman of Mount Victory; and a brother, Glenn J. Hines of Richwood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Stephen S. Bull will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery.
