Janet Louise Swartz, 52, of Richwood died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at her
home surrounded by her husband and children after a three-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a well known and respected pharmacist in the Marion area. She graduated summa cum laude from the College of Pharmacy at The Ohio State University in 1973 and began her career at Whiston's Pharmacy in Mount Gilead. She worked at Henney & Cooper Drug Stores for 22 years and had been employed at Rite Aid in downtown Marion since 1996. She was a member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church, the Wesley Class and the Chancel Choir. She was an active member of the Central Ohio Emmaus Community and will long be remembered for her friendship and love of flowers. She was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Kenton to Wilma (Arn) and the late Clarence Overly. She is survived by her mother of Kenton; her husband Jeff whom she married July 2, 1972; two children, Jennifer of Richmond, Va., and Jerry of Richwood; and a sister, JoAnn Overly of Marysville. Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Ballinger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Richwood First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Friday and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at 18 S.
