Roy E. McBride
Roy E. McBride, 81. of Richwood died Thursday. July 5. 2001. at Memorial
Hospital of Union County.
He had been employed at National Can in Marion and was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 670 in Richwood.
He was born March 29, 1920. in Hancock County to the late Joe T. and
Garcia Z. Longsworth McBride and was predeceased by a daughter. Monna
McBride and a brother. Dale McBride. He married Martha Louise Davis Jan.
23, 1945, in Pascagoula, Miss., and she died Aug. 14, 1994.
He is survived by a daughter. Sue Ann (Pete) Bails- Watson of Phoenix,
Ariz.; two granddaughters, Heidi Bails of Columbus and Bobbi Sue Bails of
Richwood; a great-granddaughter. Monica Bails; two sisters. Esther (Robert)
King of Dunkirk and Ruth Bidwell of Kettering.
Funeral services will be held at 1 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Ballinger Funeral
Home in Richwood and burial will be at the Claiboume Cemetery. Friends
may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in
care of the funeral home.
