Kenneth H. Miller, 90, of Prospect died Monday, July 2,2001, at his home.
He was ordained a minister in 1965 by the American Baptist Convention and served Allen Center, Marysville and Wyandotte Baptist Church in Nevada, Ohio. He was a member of the Radnor Baptist Church. He was executive secretary of the Ohio Jersey Cattle Breeders Association from 1952 to 1976, was a secretary of the Ohio Purebred Dairy Cattle Association for 15 years and was a member of the Dairy Shrine in Madison, Wis., the American Jersey Cattle Club and the Ohio Association of Realtors. He managed the Sears and Montgomery Ward farm stores in Middletown in the 1940s and was an'agent for Prospect Realty later in life. He was inducted into the Ohio State Senior Citizen Hall of Fame in 1986 and was chairman of the Marion County Commission on Aging in 1988. He was president of the Prospect Senior Citizens in 1980-82. He received the Ohio Purebred Dairy Cattle Association Award of Honor in 1989 and the Ohio Jersey Cattle Breeders Association Recognition of Service Award in 1996. He was born Feb. 26,1911, in Eldorado to the late George and Olive Kimmel Miller and was predeceased by a son, Leonard Paul Miller; a daughter, Ruth Anna Miller Guckian; an infant daughter, Kay Veldine Miller; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Mabel L. Siler Miller whom he married Sept. 23, 1930, in Harrisburg, Ind.; two daughters, Glenna Miller Jarvis of Me Arthur and Sylvia Miller (Gene) Hack of Hyatts; two sons, Raymond A. (Linda) Miller of Hilliard and Douglas J. (Arlene) Miller of Waldorf, Md.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Donald Guckian of Eaton: and care givers Chloe, Helen, Kathleen, Louise and Sharma. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Radnor Baptist Church. The Rev. Frank Busbey will officiate and burial will be at Wares Chapel Cemetery in Eldorado. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect.
